  1. Generally, I don’t feel that guilty about eating good food, even if it’s not terribly good for me.

But I also like horrible food, or at least, there are times that I get a craving for a specific form of horrible food, and indulge in it.  Lower end snack foods, a product called “beef fry” which is a means of selling cuts of fat, with tiny bits of meat in them, and KFC’s spicy chicken wings.

I probably feel most guilty about KFC, as I regret it five minutes after I finish eating it.  Then, for about a month, I remain convinced that it’s poison.  But that wears off, and I have to go back and eat some more delicious poison.

  2. My guilty/pleasure food is when I have a jar of Nutella in my cupboard and I eat all of it in just a few days. Just me! 🙂
    YUM!

  3. So I’m a student and one of my guilty pleasures is spending money I really don’t have to buy great ingredients to make awesome food. As someone who loves food my other guilty pleasure is making grilled cheese with wonder bread and kraft singles. I know there is a hundred other ways to make grilled cheese but I can’t resist the food I grew up on.

  4. I have other guilty food pleasures, but peanut butter is my nemesis.  I try hard not to see the jar in the cupboard, but if I do and take the lid off, a spoon follows as night follows day.  Everything goes  kinda blurry and, later, when the fog disappears the jar is empty and I’m using a pinky to get every tint still bit clinging to  the crevices, yes, even on the lid of the jar!

  5. There are no less than three Popeyes coupons in my wallet at any given time.  Is that guilty enough?  Send me the skillet so I can make my own secret recipe.  Love that chicken!

  6. Guilty pleasure?  Heh.  Making chilimac.  Mac and cheese…+browned ground beef (usually with chopped onions and garlic)…+large can of diced tomatoes.

We once found that we only had really good ground beef, and we had no boxes of Kraft mac&cheese.  So we made mac and cheese from scratch, using 2-year-old cheddar…then made up the chilimac with ground, aged Black Angus sirloin.  Voila!  A gourmet guilty pleasure.  We snickered while we ate it.

  7. My guiltiest pleasure is also one of my longest-time comfort food: ramen. The Maruchan type, though I’ve lately been “splurging” on the imported Nissin stuff from the local Chinese grocery. I add a chopped scallion and some spinach to it when I remember to, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a terrible, irresistible, highly-processed saltsplosion.

  8. My guily pleasure?  Hmm . . .

I have to say that is I really have two and I can’t quite decide between, so you will hear both of them!  The first is a ham and cheese omlette with fresh spinich and tomatoes. MMMM!  My second all time favorite is corn cakes drizzled with honey butter!  The best!

  9. My secret and guilty pleasure is the things I will eat in my car on a long trip…….like pizzacious pringles and cheetos.  Total junk food that I don’t eat otherwise, but man or man does it taste fabulous when I am driving!

  10. Chocolate is definately my guilty pleasure and now that it’s Easter time I’ve been feeling very guilty lately 😉

  11. Like a fellow poster above, my curse is peanut butter. Crunchy and thick, I can it by the spoonful. Bread, too, is a curse.  I can fall into ecstasy watching butter melt on  steaming hot bread, its smell filling the entire house. Dip it into cafe au lait, and you have one of the simplest, most delicious breakfasts imaginable.

  12. I’m disqualified from the contest, but now that the drawing deadline is nearly upon us, I’ll fess up. I like Beefaroni. I’ll eat a can of it for lunch, cold, right out of the can. I know that it’s awful, but I’m compelled to eat the stuff. On the plus side, it’s fairly vegetarian. I understand that the “beef” in beefaroni is mostly textured vegetable (soy) protein.

  13. And we have a winner and they’ve been notified via email. Thanks to everyone who participated. Please check back frequently for more Cooking Monster contests.
